Name Calling
This propaganda poster uses name calling to differentiate the look of a burger sold over the counter and the burger promised in an advertisements. Photographer Dario D. decided to find out how burgers look like in reality, compared to the attractive looking burgers in the advertisements, by using the burger “Big N’ Tasty.” It turned out to be that the “actual” Big N’ Tasty burgers from the store were more flat and the burgers in advertisements look very puffy and packed with delicious ingredients. In this poster, the “actual” burger is given a bad name so the viewers would dislike the product. Calling the burger “actual” is name calling because all burgers are actual burgers that are designed for us to eat, but by saying actual burger, it might mean that the burger on the left is a fake one. The poster seeks to serve disappointment to the viewers who would like a purchase food from Burger King.
